I can understand why the BBC would have chickened out of that.
Yes agreed. I thought perhaps each country had the opportunity to opt out at that point with their
own video compilations of their entries, but that video explains all. Surprising the Beeb didn't stuff in two mins worth of trailers, missed a trick there !
Nothing special but I would have prefered to see this over the Bonnie Tyler clips.
I think some of the content was probably deemed unacceptable for a Eurovision audience. Whilst it was after the nine o'clock watershed, the programme started before, and has a very family-friendly audience. I heard rumblings that originally it included even more adult content.
I was very impressed by the amount of humour in the show this year, it's the sort of style I could imagine the UK doing should we produce an ESC.
The graphic design was nice this year too, the butterfly motif was a great idea and very well done. The only slight quibble was that I saw it somewhere where the commentary was drowned out so it was a case of 'guess the flag' until the caption came up before the song.
I really liked the presentation of Eurovision this year. Does anyone know who made the graphics this year. And the track used on the 'we are one' sting. Is that track used every year or is it different each year? Does anyone know who did that track too?

The We Are One track was done by (I think), Benny and Bjorn from Abba alongside the Swedish Dance Music producer Avicii
