The BBC didn't show this bit for some reason...

Nothing special but I would have prefered to see this over the Bonnie Tyler clips.

I can understand why the BBC would have chickened out of that.

Yes agreed. I thought perhaps each country had the opportunity to opt out at that point with their
own video compilations of their entries, but that video explains all. Surprising the Beeb didn't stuff in two mins worth of trailers, missed a trick there !

I think some of the content was probably deemed unacceptable for a Eurovision audience. Whilst it was after the nine o'clock watershed, the programme started before, and has a very family-friendly audience. I heard rumblings that originally it included even more adult content.

Did Petra speak any Swedish at all?

Just for the record: She did say thank you and goodbye in Swedish at the end of the broadcast.

Yes - you're quite right - she did. Tack och förlåt.

I was very impressed by the amount of humour in the show this year, it's the sort of style I could imagine the UK doing should we produce an ESC.

The graphic design was nice this year too, the butterfly motif was a great idea and very well done. The only slight quibble was that I saw it somewhere where the commentary was drowned out so it was a case of 'guess the flag' until the caption came up before the song.

I really liked the presentation of Eurovision this year. Does anyone know who made the graphics this year. And the track used on the 'we are one' sting. Is that track used every year or is it different each year? Does anyone know who did that track too?

The We Are One track was done by (I think), Benny and Bjorn from Abba alongside the Swedish Dance Music producer Avicii

A-Be-Be only wrote the "anthem": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nC2BEcI0GbU

The motion graphics were created by Broken Doll - http://brokendoll.se/ - and the music was composed by Adam Nordén - http://www.adamnorden.com/ . They have previously cooperated to produce rather nice idents for SVT2 and TV4 Fakta, two Swedish TV channels: http://www.brokendoll.com/identifiers/

SVT2 theme by Adam Nordén:

Does anyone know if there is a clean version of the opening from the second semi final to download?

That piece of music was simply fantastic!

I think Adam Nordén wrote the music for the first TV4 series of Wallander as well.
