...well that's not going to win is it... stupid slovenians... "give us 12 points" Eff Off.

Songs that never win... anything Patriotic, or songs that say "we will win", or "vote for me".

That's NOT the entry though.

Right. It's just a parody song played during the national final. I also wouldn't call it patriotic -- if anything, it's poking fun at Slovenia's desperation to do better than it usually does.

I guess he's still alive then.

If the BBC are going to select the singer they should go back to having the viewers choose the song they will sing as they did with Song for Europe back in the early 90s. That gave the BBC exactly what they want now - a respectable 2nd place without the expense of putting on the show the next year.

Stunning way out of Leftfield Choice.

Sensational, considering 'The Last Waltz' was the first single bought for me in 1967.

I'm bemused by this choice. Thought it was a joke.

It probably started off that way, but someone at the BBC took them seriously.

Choice of artist IMO is irrelevant... its a "song contest" ...whats the song?

Obviously the BBC, like RTE, wanting to make absolutely sure they won't have the costs of staging it next year . . .

But who knows, 'auld Engelbert might take Europe by storm!
