Whilst some die-hard Eurovision fans might not like Graham - most people seem pretty happy with him. For my money he's a lot better than Terry was during the last year or two he commentated.

Have to agree with you there- I'm not particularly a fan of Graham Norton - rarely watch / listen to his other shows - and thought I'd find him too annoying but hes well suited to this and has taken the best parts of what Terry did- the cheeky comments, the (jokingly) mild irritation with certain bits (being too long etc), but without the levels of almost bitterness that Terry had reached by the end. Norton doesn't treat it as an absolute joke, but neither does he take it totally seriously, with the feeling that we're rather the outsiders at the 'party'- which is probably how the majority of the audience see it.

In fairness, he is absolutely preferable to Mills and Cox. I was told they were only hired because Radio 1 always refuse to play the Eurovision single and this way, at least it will get a play on their shows. I think Mills played it. Once.

Complete agree. Norton was a breath of fresh air compared to bitter old Wogan who just didn't understand - or more to the point didn't like - the way the contest has changed in the last decade or so. He and the BBC also were far too concerned with finding a "Eurovision song" in the last few selection shows of his era, rather than just a decent song to put forward for Europe to judge.

Graham Norton was excellent and has really grown into the role. The last few years Wogan was doing it weren't very good. Norton has that knack of being official and responsible when needed but also being quite cutting as well saying those things that everyone is, or will, think.

I can't believe what I'm reading. I was listening back to the results from Moscow and his was much more into it. He was terrible following the voting last night in comparison. Perhaps this was due to us not doing as well.

Scissor Sisters were on Five Live this morning and said, if they're asked, they'd gladly represent the UK next year. If the BBC don't hold them to that they're mad. I doubt they'd find a more current Eurovsion friendly, yet still credible, act that have had success this side of the 21st Century. It's a perfect match.

Actually it's probably the other way round now considering The Voice is now rating lower than what Fame Academy and So you think you can Dance did in their first seasons.

Neither of which were in May and broadcast on the hottest day of the year.

Whatever spin you put on it, it's not good.

It's not spinning, it's simply a fact that comparisons between SYTYCD Series 1 and The Voice aren't relevant because one was in January and February and one was in April and May. A better comparison would be with what BBC1 was broadcasting this time last year, which was SYTYCD Series 2 which absolutely died and only just got past two million some weeks. Hence, The Voice is a clear success year-on-year.

Fair point, but you've got to admit it's not doing as well as they'd like. And given the expense of the programme it should be doing better.

If it's fairing so poorly at this stage it's either because of bad scheduling or this part of the programme offers nothing new. So I'm guessing you're going for the former?
