Oh you're such a tease! I'd often suspected there was something simmering under the lid of that topic.

Sorry to disappoint. Just reporting the views I've heard from others in passing. No simmering at all.

It sounds quite nice, although that doesn't seem to make much difference. We'll still end up with the fewest votes.

I've been looking at people's Top 10's on Youtube and reading Eurovision forums and its seems the good people of Europe seem to like our song and in some Top 10's we've made it to number one!

Personally I predict the UK winning with France/Sweden/Estonia/Austria coming up the rear! Very Happy

I think you're all forgetting the politics of the voting. Nobody likes the UK anymore thanks to like likes of Blair, Iraq etc. We don't have any big time players that are neighbouring islands who would vote for us other than Ireland! I'll eat my hat if we come anywhere near first!

Have you actually watched Eurovision in recent years? Are you aware of where we came in 2009?

NOBODY likes Germany, and look at how they did last year.

Eurovision.TV/shop have confirmed my first prediction - sort of Smile Wink (well they haven't said anything about whether it's on 2xBD50s but I didn't ask them - though someone else I asked ages ago who had something to do with the release said that they "feel confident that it will be released as a 2BD50.. ", and they haven't announced it on the site yet).

quote by Eurovision.TV shop people:
Quote:
"Hereby we can inform you that this years event will also be produced on Blu-ray. At this moment we have not received information what the price will be.

...As soon as we know more it will be shown on our site. The release will be aproximately 3 weeks after the Event...."

Some info on the show from the HoD meeting including the opening, interval, postcards and the stage. Not sure what they mean by "The stage will include a satellite approximately 40 metres in front of the stage, and will have a huge LED-screen in the backpart." Also it says the stage will be intentionally small.

BTW as of today all 43 songs are known.

Probably the football arena venue dictates a small stage along one Goalline, the satellite stage will probably be used for continuity breaks during the Ad pauses and the voting, allowing scene and artist changes to go on without hinderance.

In past years the UK wouldn't get look in the Youtube Top 10's, expect when Jade Ewan sang in 2009 and even then her song was liked and loathed in equal amounts. This year Blue seems to be coming out on top, with praise from around Europe.

The block voting doesn't stop the UK from winning or even getting into the Top 5, its the crud we send that causes the damage. This year we have a decent song, sung by a decent band. It seems to me that the BBC have got the right formula for a change... mind you they couldn't get any worse after the Peter Waterman/Josh cock up from last year!

I think it'd be hard to deny block voting and Blair/Iraq war are/were at least a handicap.
