When will people learn that we will never win the Eurovision, or even come close until the likes of Take That, Robbie Williams or Leona Lewis bite the bullet and perform at the event.

Look at past entries that have come close or even won - Cliff Richard, Katrina and the Waves, Bucks Fizz and Sandy Shaw. All bar one of those acts (Bucks Fizz) had at least one top 10 single in one of the decades gone past before they performed at the event. This made them a) able to perform live under pressure and b) experienced in perfoming live full stop. It's not like we haven't had big names perform in the past, so whats stopping them being entered now (except the ego's if it all goes wrong).

A song like Take That's Rule The World, if that had been entered for the Eurovision back in 2008 when it was released, we'd of at least had a hope.

Alternatively, all the acts perform and are given a letter (rather than perform under their country) - the only act you cant vote for is your own... thus you'd never really get the friendly voting going on.

You've got to remember though that when they all won it was primarily a song writing competition. It was decided by people who judged it on the song and not members of the public on whether they'd heard of the singer before or on the performance.

We didn't do that bad last year... when the juries were brought back!

I think there's an extra 'O' in the 'Country' bit of 'Your Country Needs You', judging from those pictures.

I'm surprised Pete Waterman hasn't bought his old protogee Sonia back (given she almost won in 1993)... wonder what she's up to these days?

Miss Fitz are an odd choice. They were on X Factor and were very good (although never made it past bootcamp for some ridiculous reason) but their style isn't very 'Eurovision'.

I'm sure theres clips of them on youtube for those who never saw them/can't remember them.

There's a few comments on DS saying that one of the girls had to drop out of Miss Fitz at bootcamp for an unknown reason which is why there were suddenly only two of them at Louis' house. I guess that's why they didn't get through. They're clearly all back now though!

She's doing the rounds of personal appearances. Either last year (I think more likely the year before), she was in Edinburgh at a gay club for Eurovision being played on a big screen.

One of Miss Fitz is also Norwegian - so that might help as well...

I still think we need to chose earlier to allow our entrant to tour Europe for longer to promote themselves and the song.

LOL @ how the look back at Pete's career was basically a look back at the biggest jokes in music history. The acts performing his songs is only showcasing how he's absolutely the wrong man for the job, whilst Jade the only one on the panel saying anything of worth.
