Apologies for those who are bored by Melodifestivalen - but I'm addicted - and have been since 2003!
Looking at the iTunes chart (which correctly predicted the Norwegian winner in Norway) - it looks like Anna Bergendahl and Salem al Fakir are ahead, with Darin and Eric Saade close behind.
Timoteij at number 6, and then 7,8 and 9 in the chart are (shock horror) non-MF songs. Jessica Andersson is at 11, with Ola down at 13 (though I think his song is VERY catchy and he really delivers it)
Peter Jöback and Pernilla Wahlgren are at 22 and 23 respectively, with poor old Andreas Johnson at 26...
These figures are slightly confusing as some of the songs appear in the chart twice - once as their single release and once as a track purchase from the MF 2010 album (some tracks are album only - others are not)
Also - some of the songs that are not in the final are ahead of final songs in the charts - with Pauline at 5, Kalle Moraeus & Orsa Spelmän at 10, Neo at 18 and Alcazar at 25, plus a few others.
Be interesting to see how Saturday goes - the juries and the public often disagree - and this year the international jury participation has been simplified (I got very confused by the way it worked in the heats last year...) It will be interesting to see whether iTunes reflects the public at large and the jury tastes.
And I'm sure it will be a great show. I loved the opening of Andra Chansen - beautifully done (integrating a live performance with
VT clips of the performers duelling on location) - and I love the way MF often chose singers, like Måns and Lena Ph, to present. (Lena Ph's performance of Jag ångrag ingenting in the 2006 final was brilliantly done)
BTW - did I mention I quite like Melodifestivalen?
