Interesting question. Sven has done it for a number of years - but maybe NRK will want someone from the Norwegian industry to do it? ISTR that Norway hosts a number of decent TV music concerts (including the Nobel concert - though that often has a British camera supervisor and vision mixer?)
I always like to keep an eye on who's doing it and try and find some of their previous work before the contest airs in May. Would be good if Sven was to do it again though!
Anyone have any ideas who the multi-camera director for this year's semi-finals/final is?

Yep - now Salem is at number 2 behind Anna. Top 12 songs in the Swedish iTunes chart are MF candidates. Can you imagine that happening in the UK?!

Salem was added to iTunes much later than the others for some reason which may explain why he's so much lower.
I think the top 2 will be Kom and This is my Life. I'd much prefer This is my Life to win though.
And I really hope Alcazar get through though it's clearly going to be a close one as chances are they'll be fighting against Neo.

The BBC obviously don't want to pay the cost of hosting Eurovision next year then considering bar the song always being selected they're dropping all changes from last year and going back to essentially the format from the year before, where 6 acts will perform and the panel will decide on three of them to perform the chosen song and face the public vote.

Wasn't last year's show a way of using Andrew Lloyd Webber on screen in a reality format without casting a stage show - effectively plugging a gap at quite short notice? This year they've got ALW doing a show to find the new Dorothy (and Toto?) - presumably fronted by Graham Norton? - so I suspect that would knock out a long-running multi-week show, and the earlier saturday evening slots were taken by So You Think You Can Dance?
Pity - my gut feeling is that chosing a song early is pretty important for countries like the UK - as it means you can get your song "out there" in Europe by touring it on loads of shows around Europe prior to the event, generating some buzz and awareness of the artist and song?
Not sure that the format of last year's show was perfect - but taking it seriously was a major plus.

Oh, I know - but it does rather seem like we're throwing people with training, but less experience, in at the deep end. Of course there are those who come from such a background and are damn good - but I doubt it instantly applies to every fresh-faced young thing coming out of their doors.
But then, I'm still firmly with those who'd kill to see a UK version of Melodifestivalen.
(Gah. I should've been Swedish...)

In other news, it is the Andra Chansen for Melodifestivalen 2010 tomorrow night. (06/03/2010)
Personally I'd like to see Alcazar - "Headlines" and Pernilla Wahlgren - "Jag vill om du vågar" going direkt till Globen .
Pernilla's song is typical schlager, (although not as schlager-esque as Linda Bengtzing) and I think we are missing a lot of that in the final this year. Whilst I know it won't win, I still want to see it in the final!
At the moment, looking like that Eric Saade, Timoteij and even more likely that Anna Bergendahl will do well.

Yep - agree with you on Andra Chansen. Have you heard Victorious - a duet with Velvet and Lindan Bengtzing which was apparently rejected for MF this year?
I think Anna and Salem are very strong contenders - though I'd love a song in Swedish to win (and stay in Swedish in Oslo).
