Have to agree, though Jade was far better than Mark. With the song being so repetitive though, it worked well split between The Twins.
However, an awful song. I'm sure I wasn't the only one thinking back to The Winners' Song - only that was better. Having Dima Bilan perform last years winner shows ALW's efforts are below par too.
And have to agree a rather anti-climatic series overall too. It's good they tried something different, but it pretty much fell flat and didn't have any buzz around it at all.

I hate to say it, but I actually liked The Twins for the first time tonight...

Being an ALW creation, the song is very musical theatre, fine for Joseph and the like but Eurovision ?

Haven't really followed the show but caught them performing the song tonight. Thought the twins were really good, I could have seen them doing well in Eurovision. Jade was good, but the song didn't really suit her - it was a little bit above her range and thus sounded a bit shouty. I think with a bit more experience of performing, she'll make it her own though, it needs to sound more natural to work.
I think they should have had Gary Barlow write the song, personally. It's a bit meh.

I'm not disappointed because I knew the song would be rubbish.
It's ALW, famous for writing ballads in E major. The addition of Dianne Warren hasn't really done anything for it. It just sounds ridiculously X Factory, and if that's what we've been waiting for after 5 weeks then ALW can lock himself back in the bunker, because in musical terms it's undoubtedly the scraping off the shoe.
Judging it as a Eurovision entry though, it's undoubtedly a strong, simple song. As a performer, Jade's voice is just too volatile - she just seemed to wail her way through it. It's a hard song to make anything of though.
I don't have to remind you of another effort... do I?

What nonsense, her voice suits the song. It's the best entry we've had in years and I for one wish her well with it.

How does it suit the song? To my ears she doesn't securely hold a note, instead preferring the Mariah technique. Maybe it's just that some of us know what ALW is capable of...
