It's about time the BBC took it more seriously. The block voting is the main problem but lets face it we haven't had a strong song for a many years now.

I hope the joint juries/televoting system will work but I do have my doubts.

I presume from the wording and the reading on the BBC site that he is only composing one song.

I like the fact that they are trying to take it seriously, but think that it would add to the build up if he composed maybe 4 songs.

Although having seen some of the UK population's choices over the years, maybe that's not a good idea.

( As an aside I remember we nearly entered a song called Yodel In the Canyon Of Love lol )

So who they're going to blame next year when it finishes 23rd then?

Structure change as in mainland Europe disintegrates into a ball of dust? Even then I don't think Ireland would give us 12 points...

So instead of it being a contest between songs to find which is the most preferred, it's now another vehicle for some clapped-out old musical composer to sit in a fake throne and cast judgement over singers competing to sing a song that may not even be suitable for them?

Yawn.

Yawn.

Where as last year we had a contest between ex reality stars and minor celebrities, judged by an old clapped-out over paid radio DJ, sitting in a fake throne next to John Barrowman and Carrie Grant. Not much difference there then.

At least next year there will be someone who knows a lot about music, instead of an over paid DJ whos show is only the most popular because the radio ratings don't count under 16s.

Yes I know! I've been meaning to, but problems with my laptop and having a horrible cold have pushed it back a bit.
