3 hours of Eurovision is all I can handle in a year.

Unbelievable to think the National Lottery invasion was a year ago - time just flies really.

We've come second 15 times, that explains why, I was goign to say we've never won it that much

Unfortunately the last time we actually came second was in 1998; second bottom is more par for the course these days!

It was much more recent than that, we came second in 2002, the year before we got nul points.

We came fourth in 2002 in Tallinn, we got "nul points" the following year in 2003.

It's ridiculous to think that some people actually think Cyndi's dull rip-off of 'You Raise Me Up' could actually get us anywhere on the scoreboard.

Granted, she has a powerful voice, but it was completely wasted on this song, and in Eurovision.

I'm just so happy for David of Scooch - I'm good friends with him, and when I see him tomorrow I shall congratulate him - I think THAT's more likely to get us the votes .

Well... I was INTENDING to write 'Maltese'!!!

My mistake, I just remember us doing quite well which we still did - a good performance considering how terribly we've been doing ever since.

Actually we were joint third with Estonia. This was when Jessica Garlick represented us if it rings any bells.

Yes, I remember it now. It was that girl out of Pop Idol and it wasn't a bad song - although I never thought it would do as well as it did.

We got the same score as Estonia, but in Eurovision they use a "countback" system so that they check how many 12 points, 10 points and so on each one had, adn Estonia got more 12s hence came third adn us forth. The system was introduced so that a tie for sirst would not happen. In 1991 Sweden and France both got same top score, AND had same number of 12 points, but Sweden won as it had been awarded more 10 points.

Just a correction: It was Malta. Probably due to all the Brits that live there!

Using that logic, I guess if Poland ever get in again, we'll be giving them 12 points. It may just be that Maltese people like Scooch. Weird....

Feck it, I'm having a go next year. If braindead dweebs like Scooch can get in, then I've got just as much chance.

I'm not at all surprised. The Easternvision Song Contest's domination by the former Soviet Bloc means that we don't have a hope in hell of winning (or even coming in the top 5) ever again. If the only Western European countries that ever get through to the final are the big four, then the number of traditional Eurovision countries bothering to enter shall just go down and down.
