Well, I haven't read what everyone else has said, so sorry if this is going over an already well trodden path, but what a joke the voting is getting! Not a single old school Eurovision country in the top 5 (even top 10?). Ireland and the UK at the bottom?! Boooo!
I must say I thoughoughly enjoyed YLE's production - absolutely wonderful staging, lighting and direction. I think I only spotted one camera shot that could have been better IMO! The back projection/LED/whatever set was phenomenal and the random crane shots which have become a feature of Eurovision Song Contests of recent were tamed a little to feature when needed, not all the time.
I don't think the best song won, but I'm bloody glad Ukraine didn't! Certainly Serbia's entry wasn't bad, so well done to them. But it's a crying shame that the old Eurovision of high camp Western Euro-Pop no longer seems to be a part of it. I can only imagine that the cult status the ESC holds will dwindle until it's just the former Soviet Bloc that takes part!
