Last year's song by Lordi really was a load of loud crap - but thats Eurovision I suppose!

When did the title change from "A Song For Europe", and more importantly, why?

Priceless! There's a reason why every other show with two presenters only gets one of them to announce the winner.

Nice big studio but the part of the show that I saw seemed pretty amateur in terms of production - lights not on, presenters not knowing where to stand or their cue. The logic wasn't much better with having the winning song done twice within the space of a few minutes. Back to Song for Europe on a sleepy Sunday, anyone? Wink

Years ago - mid nineties I think when they changed it (back) to having different acts, rather than just one singer and eight songs. For a few years it was known as The Great British Song Contest - which to be honest is what I think they should do - have about 16 acts in a two-hour show and let the public have a real choice.

Anyhow, that was a major cock up and yet more proof that Wogan can no longer handle live TV!

Quite possibly the worst "song" I've ever heard. We shouldn't stupe to the level of music performed by the other nations. We should send someone with talent to show how music can be performed, such as Cyndi. It's going to be embarasing. I don't even care if they win, I'd rather send someone decent.

And that mix up with the result was horrendous. Probably the worst thing that could possibly have happened.

I just told the Sky box to save it, I'll put it on YouTube when I have a chance later.

Well judging by UK performances in recent years, it seems the BBC knew best with the original idea...
