Well the ten qualifiers are:
Belarus, FYR Macedonia, Slovenia, Hungary, Georgia, Latvia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Moldova.
I am GUTTED that Denmark and Norway failed to qualify.
They were the best two of all and should have gone through. I'd have thought that Denmark and Norway would have been the most likely of the lot to go through. Also what a shock that Switzerland failed to qualify, they were favourites to qualify, and possibly win.
Other shocks: Portugal, Estonia, Cyprus. They too should have qualified.
I am equally shocked and disgusted to see Hungary, Georgia, Bulgaria and Turkey in the final.
They were among my most disliked songs this evening. Why have they qualified? Who voted for them?
I'd have liked to have seen Hungary, Georgia, Bulgaria and Turkey OUT and Denmark, Norway, Switzerland and Portugal IN instead.

PS
Looking at the outcome of the semi-final...no success for Denmark, Switzerland, Norway, Belgium, Portugal etc...the principal of the Eurovision Song Contest (and EU/EBU in general) in "bringing Europe together" falls flat on it's arse. The competition has sadly become a get-togther for "new Europe" with "old Europe" paying the bill. The biggest give-away that the great days of the EUROVISION Song contest are dead is that you find yourself asking, "Where the hell is
Moldo-ser-bania
?"

Couldn't agree more. By looking at the list of entrants this year, out of the 24 countries, there are only 8 regular eurovision old timers. Those 8 are are Spain, Ireland, finland, Greece, sweden, France, Germany, and United Kingdom. All the remasining 16 countries are from the baltic states with the esception of Russia and Turkey. What chance do the 4 biggest contributers stand? Absolutely zilch. terry Wogan will be cross!!!

No need to panic!! The fanfare is still there. Yes it did start with the same logo but the Te Deum music is still being used - don't worry! That logo has been used since 2002.

The BBC programme ended with an odd EBU logo with no Te Deum fanfare... is this how it started? I do hope it isn't the end of the fanfare! I might cry...

I reckon if we took Eurovision seriously, Paddy would be the natural successor for Wogan in the future. That may be the case as the final may well move to BBC Three when Wogan goes - which I hope will be a long time off yet.
Some hefty competitors tonight but, as always, what do the songs matter... its all politics. I just hope that on Saturday people really are voting for the music.
