Slovenia
: Another of my favoured songs. Too operatic for Eurovision, I don't think so. Loved this song, great catchy chorus. I'd have joined in if I could speak Slovene. They're going through, could even win outright.
Austria
: the penultimate song tonight. Another song I've rated "below par". That said, I didn't like Norway "In My Dreams" when it was in the semi-final two years ago, but half liked it in the final two nights later, and it's grown on me since (great for singing on boisterous rides at theme parks). Austria, please stay out of this year's final. You can wait a year longer for your second victory.
Latvia
: it's now 21:56 BST, and the last song of the night. Song 28 of 28. It's amazing how the evening's flown! A very operatic male group. It reminds me of one of our MYMU entries two or three years ago: Tricolore "Brand New Day" which (regrettably) didn't qualify to the ESC that year. Latvia's entry this year: 1000 times better than their cat screeching trash of last year, but still not 100% sure it's a qualifier. Questionable.
Do you think not apearing in the semi final can damge a countrys chances? (having said that if we did we probebly wouldnt get through lol)
What makes you think that? I'm not sure on that, two years ago Greece won and I think they were a direct qualifier (i.e. didn't appear in the semi) that year.
Becuse songs witch only apear in the final would get less coverage and the ones in the semis have longer to grow on people.
