Incidentally there is a TOTP 2 Eurovision special tonight, which I assume will use mostly TOTP performances.

Thank you very much for telling me, I'm going to record it to watch tomorrow as I'll be going to bed by the time it's due to be shown (BBC2 22:40 - 23:40 tonight).

Probably using the same performances as he did for the TOTP2 2003, 2002 and 2001 Eurovision specials, and the ones before that no doubt Wink Hmm I wonder if Bucks Fizz and ABBA will appear?!

As for Daz Sampson... rap is instantly forgettable at the best of times (IMO), especially when done badly by a Mockney chav from Stockport, pushing 40 Laughing

Scooch maybe be Poundshop Steps and pure Parmesan, but at least they have a catchy (maybe even meaningful Shocked ) song this time round, unlike previous UK entrants and the other UK hopefuls this year.

Not that it matters anyway, because the voting is so political anyway (love thy neighbour and old pals' act abound)...

It's now on at 11pm according to my EPG. Perhaps the Snooker is over running.

EDIT: Snooker Semi-Finals still over running, so TOTP2 Eurovision is on at midnight!

Anyway, on another note here's a "thoroughlygood" analysis of our chances in the contest this year from a lovechild of Charlie Brooker... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoZNwL0_mBU

BBC2 were running "70 minutes late" according to the conti announcer!!

I note caption boy said that Sonia's Better The Devil You Know was done by Pete Waterman as well*. I'm sure it was written by somebody else (confer) ... so did Pete Waterman produce that record? Or is Steve Wright being his usual ignorant self Laughing

*I'm aware that Stock, Aitken and Waterman produced Kylie's song, different from Sonia's.

Re the TOTP 2 special.

Does anyone have a list of where the various non TOTP performances were sourced from?

Also what is the archive status of the various 'Song for Europe' type shows?(I suspect some of the performances came from those)

I do know that Lulu came from Pop goes the 60s, so why didn't the Cliff clip from there get used instead of the one shown?

Looking at the photos posted on that blog, in some, the set and lighting looks fantasic, but from other angles it looks cluttered and messy.

I'm sure the BBC (with Wogan) stream it online as well as eurovision.tv (sans Wogan).

The BBC wont have worldwide rights, so if they do stream it, it will be restricted to UK IP addresses only
