Don't you just come back here every year and say the exact same thing ? Isn't it normally at this time that you start to blame Tony Blair ?

The Eurovision really has become a joke.
That's the last time I support the contest.

Gotta love the voting !
Baltics/Russia/Former Soviet countries vote for each other, Balkans vote for each other, Scandinavia voting for each other.
Malta giving 12 points to Switzerland just because one of their singers was from Malta - until then they'd only got one point.
One thing that surprised me - both Belgium and France gave very high marks to Armenia - is that a Francophone thing?
Spain and Portugal have obviously fallen out of love though...
Finland was an evolution of Norway's WigWam from last year - and done very well - and with enough fireworks to fuel a small town's Nov 5th displays!
Wonder how YLE will do it in Helsinki. (They helped SVT on either Talinn or Riga ISTR)

Excuse me while I gush for a second, but fair play to Brian Kennedy who got Ireland into a respectable 10th place (obviously not respectable in terms of how it used to be in the 90s, but in comparison to the past few years at least).
Edit: And yeah, whats has happened to relations between Spain and Portugal? Have I missed something big?

They need to sort the scoring out, revealing the first 7 points with no mention is pointless, as countries were getting points without anyone noticing.
As Terry said they should go back to just having the finalists providing scores in the final
The production values/time delays and general cringeworthy moments was as good as usual
Plus for some reason the BBC provided 2 stings at the end, was it to make up for that year when they cut it off

One said 'EUROVISION' and the other had some letters that included 'EU/'

I thought that was a big improvement, it sped things up a lot. I suspect it'll be done better next year now everyone knows how it works

that would make more sense, but i wonder how much of a problem it would be to pull the organisation for the voting in some countries with a days notice (they'd be some very upset presenters and telecom companies out there!)

Reckon the programme would be just as popular if they dispensed with all that singing lark at the beginning and just had an hour of the voting.
Doubt that would make much difference to the scores.

OK first of all, it was a good production (except for the camerawork which wasn't a patch on last year) so well done ERT. Final was far better than the semi-final in all aspects...I wonder was this intentional? A lot of cringeworthy moments this year and minor cock-ups during the voting. What was that between the presenter and the dutch spokesperson - a good slagging match that nearly boiled over!
I thought Daz and the team deserved to do an awful lot better than they did...and I hate to repeat what everyone's been saying but they really have to bring back some kind of jury voting because the neighbourly voting was never so blatently obvious as it was tonight. But even we're guilty of that - we gave Daz 8 points and vice versa! I hope a load of countries threaten to pull out and the EBU will have to do something then.
Out of the top 10, its fair to say that the top 8 only got there because of friendly neighbours. Ireland and Greece deserved to get there. Another poor result for the BIG 4...even for Germany which was one of the favourites!

There we go again, Always political voting.
I think Daz and his girls carried the UK song off very well. I'm always anxious that cues will be missed etc after 2003 and Jemini's performance. Notice at the end he said "Vote for the music" - clearly nobody heard anyway.
Personally I thought it apalling that the UK gave 12 points to Finland but thats my own opinion. I hated the song and the whole monster costume affair. Complete trash!
Surprisingly Germany came out with quite a happy country song which was quite nice.
Terry's commentary was brilliant as always. He must get bored though - like we all do with the hosts constantly praising each other.
Amazing.
Heres to seeing Terry in Finland for 2007 "Oh great we're off to the freezing cold place again"
