EurosportNews on 1841

Eurosport News is now avaliable on Sky on the test channel 1841, which is on 10.921H 22.0 5/6. It is VERY similar to Sky Sports News with a ticker at the bottom and the actual picture screen filling a 1/4 of the screen in the top left hand corner. There doesn't appear to be any studio based presenters, just a vioceover, but it might be to do with the time of day (7 am). Luckily, it is showing news from a variety of sport not just football, so it doesn't follow Sky Sports News in that respect. (Thank God!)

The search and scan banner is showing '7am EurosportNews 24/7' but the channel is still called 1841. Anyone think we will have an EPG launch today?

BTW, I am having a bit of a posting frenzy this morning, nobody else is here!

Well here's some info for you guys, Eurosport News was available for a time then disapeared. It's never studio based and runs 24/7. I do like the music and the titles, ther good and fit the brief of the channel.

OK, I'm lost - I put all the numbers in the right boxes, pressed yellow to store it, the little tick came up - but where is it?????

According to my set, ITV is available at 11.778 V 27.5 2/3

I've seen Eurosport News quite a few times, yes the graphics look a little fresher and cleaner but it is a pan-european service and therefore cannot be presenter driven - just like Euronews.
It's voiced into different languages depending on the country.
IMO it's no-where near as good as Sky Sports News, if only because of the fact that there is just sports news and not a bit of banter to break it down.
The idents/stings also look a bit naff, nowhere near as good as the fantastic Sky Sports News idents and music (which I still want an mp3 of!).

As reported on our Sky Digi Online site, Eurosport News will launch on EPG 420 on Monday 3rd September.

Pete - the ITV channel you are refering to is the dummy channel that you see on EPG 103, it's been there since the start of DSat.
