It'd be fascinating to see how this event has fared with audiences across Europe. For a first edition it's been brilliant with some stellar performances. The joint hosting has worked well too, with Glasgow shutting down and Berlin starting up conveniently at one juncture. It could too with PSBs retaining primary rights be an anecdote to the now shuttered Olympics with the Discovery deal.

The event has been ten years in planning which shows. The key going forward would seem to be major cities hosting at least for the next two editions in 2022 and 2026. The joint Belgium/Netherlands bid for 2022 would be strong, I can't see the joint city Polish bid being successful. the third, London and Hamburg bid sounds too familiar to this edition to be a firm runner.

We could know the 2022 venue tomorrow when this edition ends.

Agree it has been successful and the joint hosting been a benefit, though I do think once the athletics started up that dominated coverage too much and would have been nice to have an alternative in the evenings. Will be interesting to see if it remains a largely individual championships as adding team events soon fleshes out the schedule. The size they are though keeps them manageable and ensure all sports get decent coverage.

Clare Balding seems to have gone AWOL the last couple of days, and frankly the coverage is all the better for it. Gabby is just so much more natural and Hazel has always been superb with such events.

Is that the first time they've used the white hexagon background for the credits of an event? Looked quite good TBH.

First time I've seen them, yes nice and clean, but not as playful as previous end-credits.

Think I've seen them before - Wimbledon, World Cup or Commonwealth Games?

I'm sure the last two were the standard yellow/white text on black, but do think at least one was all right aligned rather than moving around the screen as usual.
