ITV have had planning permission approved for a temporary studio on the Tower Hotel, next to Tower Bridge.

It's not a particularly aesthetically pleasing building, but being on top of it gives you the great advantage of not being able to see it.

I guess ITV have always wished they had some sort of riverside location in London to use for various presentation positions Wink

Reminds me of the artist who claimed he ate in the Eiffel Tower every day because it was the only place in Paris where you couldn't see it.

Isn't that about the rather ugly black tower block near the Eiffel Tower? That's supposedly the best view in Paris for the same reason

I don't think so, I'm talking about someone in the 1890s/1900s, I don't think there were many tower blocks around back then. A lot of people didn't like the tower when it was first built.

I went up to the top of it a few years ago, my wife has a picture of me looking up at all the transmission antennas, while everybody else up there is looking at the Paris skyline.

Italian media is reporting tonight that Euro 2020 could be suspended for 1 year due to Coronavirus.

It comes after Slovakia vs Republic of Ireland's EQ Play-Off SF is to be played behind closed doors on the 26th of March.

That's a lot of unplanned airtime to fill for BBC & ITV.

That 1 year delay could place quite a serious dent in ITV's advertising revenue for the year. They would have to fill the vacant schedule slots with a lot of repeats in the periods of time that the matches are not being broadcasted on the main channel.

Seems too early to make that call and so many knock on effects, specifically with the Womens Euros next year also being staged in England. Would be almost in a Ryder Cup situation where you just postpone everything for a year and shift the cycle.

Isn't there also a new FIFA Club World Cup planned for next summer too.

Could they air classic matches in place?

BBC at least have been putting some of these up online
