why Cant BBC two take the Big weekend? Im sure people can watch how to bake a cake another day.

Why not BBC TWO, give it some of it's eclectic mix and edge back?

Probably because music (Eurovision apart) rates terribly on television...

Have you actually looked at the schedule on BBC Two when the Big Weekend is on BBC Four?

On Saturday it's the repeat of Artsnight and a film, and on Sunday it's a history documentary. Neither of these are people baking cakes.

I take it that the film isn't The Mary Berry Movie, then?

No it's an actual Hollywood film in the sense it's about Paul Hollywood.

Not as busy as the Timeline Television UHD/4K scanner for use with BT Sport. In Basle, Switzerland for the Europa League final on Wednesday evening, then de-rig, drive back to the UK, then set up at Wembley for the FA Cup final yesterday...

They then had to re-rig for yesterday's FA Vase & Trophy, while everyone else was de-rigging around them.

I guess the 4K scanner had to go to another booking so it couldn't stay at Wembley for the Vase/Trophy coverage?

Thegeek used the word 're-rig', so I take that to mean they had to de-rig the UHD cameras, and then 're-rig' into the positions vacated by the BBC Sport cameras from Saturday.

I would have thought the HD cameras BT Sport used for the FA Cup, would have been used to cover the games on Sunday - unless those were done by a different OB provider.

Arena normally provide the HD coverage for BT Sport, Timeline normally look after 4k coverage

BBC credited Arena with OB facilities on Saturday too, so I assume they and BT were taking more or less the same core HD coverage from Arena ? (Unless the Beeb also contracted Arena for their own unilateral stuff ?)

TV3 Ireland today announced some of their punditry team for Euro 2016.

Joey Barton, Gerry Armstrong, Lawrie Sanchez & former Ireland Women International Emma Byrne join regular TV3 pundits Graeme Souness, Neil Lennon, Keith Andrews, Harry Redknapp & Kevin Kilbane.

TV3 will broadcast a total of 22 games live with group matches, 3x Round of 16 matches, 2x Quarter Finals and the Final (shared with RTE) beginning with England’s clash with Russia on Saturday, June 11th.

ITV like the last World Cup seem to have a decent studio presentation however their commentary seems appalling their commentary is Clive Tyldesley, Sam Matterface, Joe Speight and David Stowell, co-commentators listed in the press release are Andy Townsend and Iain Dowie but I fully expect Lee Dixon and Glenn Hoddle to also commentate as with the last world cup but compare to 2010 when ITV had Jon Champion, Peter Drury (despite his Goal for all Africa) and Ian Crocker. Compare ITV commentary this year to the BBC who have Guy Mowbray, Steve Wilson, Jonathan Pearce (despite his goal line technology nightmare in 2014) and Simon Brotherton, ITV commentary definitely seems to be their weak link.
