Well I just thoroughly enjoyed sitting down and watching the opening match - with the second coming along in a bit.
All on one of the main channels (or online) for free - no matter what UEFA or 'theres no Home Nations' naysayers say.
And why should I not be allowed to watch this on a main channel? Soaps are on ALL the time - yet does anyone have the cheek to say they should be relegated to a digital channel every few episodes? NO! of course not - yet the football gets just as many viewers.

Nice opening titles and theme for the ITV coverage, they've gone upmarket this time around with the BBC going more contemporary.

ITV's opening titles are far superior to BBC's lack of effort, well they way I see it....looks to be a good start so far

Hmm, although the ITV trailer actually makes no sense. It's message seems to be that if you're feeling deflated
by the absence of the home nations in the competition, you'll feel better because Euro 2008 is on ?
Makes no sense.
And since none of Home Nations teams qualified for the tournament, it makes no sense for it to be wasting airtime on
the flagship channels BBC One and ITV1. The live coverage ought to be shown on BBC Three and ITV4 respectively,
Much like the African Cup of Nations (which goes out on BBC Three) Euro 2008 is essentially a foreign event.
Except that a lot of people will still be watching - and their may be contractual obligations to show them on analogue rather than digital only channels. Quite a few sports rights contracts have stipulations as to which channels they are broadcast on - as showing an event on a minority channel could be seen to devalue the event itself...

George12345 would you be the same George as GeorgeS on DS, if so then your opinion is obvious. Itv all the way
In my opinion the BBC's is far superior and it shows they have put a bit of thought into it.

Always good to see the "ITV Sport presents" tagline but ITV's regular studio dressed up isn't as good as the BBC's "big windows" set, although I appreciate the desire to keep costs down without home nation involvement.
Definitely a more upmarket opening sequence, and notably longer than the BBC's (which is much shorter than previous years?)
