Noticed last night while fast forwarding through the first programme that the ESPN logo in the corner was moved down ever so slightly so you didn't notice. I guess somebody noticed that it wasn't in line with the football graphics.
As well as that, this morning there was a 'Classic' logo in the top left. Both logos then faded out (as they were back in the original position like last night) and then faded in; this time they had been moved down like last night.
That was the promo that ran on a loop before the launch. The actual launch was a cut from this (with 'starting at 8' caption) straight to an ident and the first programme. It really could have done with a fade to black between the 2 BTW
The DOG will dodge about depending on the type of OSG used.
Last night's classic Premier League used the World feed graphics and commentary, so the DOG was top right. For the live baseball at 00:00, it was bottom left due to the ESPN-USA scorebar taking up the whole top of the screen. I'm not sure if the DOG stayed on during the game, as the scorebar has an ESPN logo on it anyway.
Loving the idents by the way - subtle yet effective.

Does anyone know if these are new idents for ESPN UK or are they taken from somewhere around the world? I too think they are effective and go well with the channels promos.

It looks like they are new to me - ESPN Star don't use anything like that
First live UK based event this afternoon, friendly Tottenham v Olympiacos, professional production decent enough graphics, presumably as a test run in advance of Everton v Arsenal next weekend.
I wish they would choose where they want their ESPN logo - right now they have two on screen - one in the scorebar and the dog. Last night when taking MLS coverage from Fox Soccer, they didn't have a DOG, rather two red pillarboxes as the feed was 4:3. And also with the MLB coverage - their US counterparts already put ESPN on the screen so why put it on here as well? Surely some sort of LIVE bug could be used instead

True it did look a mess last night - but if they'd bunged the ESPN dog on screen it would have been there as well as the FSC one and would have looked MORE of a mess. Perhaps in their infancy they've not managed to get a clean feed from America?
They have thrown this channel together in the space of a few weeks so I really think they need to be given some latitude - they'll grow with time, we can't expect miracles from them quite yet. I think they've done well to get on-air this quickly!!!
