Presumably it wouldn't cost much more than £8 (or £10) to upgrade from M or L to XL anyway, so you might as well have the lot rather than just pay it all for ESPN?

Carriage has been agreed with BT Vision, so I presume TUTV will follow shortly, unless BTV are intending to use an IPTV channel for the service.

Lindsey Archibald Confirmed as Presenter to front SPL Action for Sky Sports/ESPN

The former Childrens Presenter has been doing Ibrox Uncovered for Rangers TV for the past view months.
She is to team up with Craig Burley

Here's Her In Action lol

I think its actually Alison Douglas who has been appointed as SPL presenter, rather than Lindsey Archibald. Douglas is also ex-Rangers TV, and was a former presenter of children's TV in Scotland.

Archibald is also from Rangers TV, and has previously worked for Border's Lookaround AFAIK.

more today ....

Today, as it prepares to air live English and Scottish Premier League football in the UK for the first time, ESPN announced that Rebecca Lowe will be the new co-host.

Mark Chapman, Kelly Cates and Darrell Currie will also join Stubbs and Lowe on the presenting team. Jon Champion and Derek Rae will be ESPN's commentators.

Lowe, formerly a presenter on Setanta, has previously worked on the BBC's Final Score, Football Focus and Match of the Day.

Heading ESPN's Barclays Premier League match commentary as chief commentator, Champion has more than 20 years of broadcasting experience.

Breaking ...

TUTV on DTT are now selling the service, there's no announcement from ESPN yet to confirm, despite several reports yesterday I am unable to find official confirmation of a similar resale agreement with BT Vision.

XL: Sky Sports Collection @ £19 plus £21.50 for XL = £40.50

L: Sky Sports Collection @ £24 plus £10 for L plus £8 for ESPN = £42

L: L @ £10 + ESPN @ £10 = £20

XL: inc ESPN £21.50

Weirdly it would seem it is cheaper to get XL plus Sky Sports for all your football needs, but for those on L, just adding ESPN is cheaper. We're talking marginally cheaper here, by all of £1.50!

And without looking at the channel line up, it's probably worth paying the extra £1.50 and getting a number of extra channels too.

Has any schedule for next week been released yet?

TUTV ESPN offer for ex Setanta customers (either TUTV or Setanta direct)

- Sign up and get the service for Free for the rest of August, then £9.99 per month.
- New Customers £9.99 per month plus connection fee of £20.00.

Contract information is as yet unknown as to what length of commitment that will be required, I expect it will remain monthly.

According to the ESPN America website ESPN America will continue to broadcast in the UK... the website says...

Quote:
SKY While ESPN America will continue to broadcast to customers on the Sky platform, ESPN America will be changing channel numbers. From 3rd August, ESPN America will move from Channel 417 to Channel 430.

Quote:
VIRGIN While ESPN will continue to broadcast to customers on the Virgin Media platform, ESPN America will be changing channel numbers. From 3rd August, ESPN America will move from Channel 533 to Channel 531.

I was under the impression that ESPN America was going to rebrand as just ESPN.

Have ESPN made a request to OFCOM for a new licence??

That explains why some of the football I was expecting next weekend (Bundesliga, MLS and the Spurs v Olympiakos friendly) hasn't appeared on the ESPN America EPG - that channel will continue, and ESPN will be a seperate channel.

ESPN Classic is also changing channel number on Sky.

... and the website has been tweaked ready for things to be added, several options have disappeared so it wouldn't surprise me to see some additional rights announced as the channel launches tomorrow.
