BRIGHTON COMEDY GALA

I press the "i" button to get more information... and I am told that this is:

"Comedy Gala from Brighton".

How wonderfully helpful. Has someone from the Radio Times gone to work for Channel 5's listings department?!

I think the cable companies generate their own EPG listings (or they used to ). But does the EPG information have the same content on the main channels between Sky and Freeview?

Why would they be different?

I suppose for the same reason that the cable ones are/were different, ie they type them. Do Sky generate the main channels info on their EPG or do the individual broadcasters?

Individual broadcasters supply their own listings.

That sort of listing happens with quite a few programmes - some channels supply generic synopsises for programmes when they don''t provide specific information. Have I Got News For You is quite often described on UKTV as something like: 'Topical news quiz with Paul Merton, Ian Hislop and Angus Deayton' which tells you nothing about which episode it is

TOTP 2 on G2 as well !

ABC1 never change their description for each programme either. (Well the ones that I watch anyway!)

Up until recently on NTL it gave the same information on each programme, but one day it changed and when ever the 'i' button is pressed it gives the episode detail.
