Well it used to be just ITV that split the movies up into 2 parts with the News slap bang in the middle, but the BBC are at it as well.

Goldeneye tonight on ITV1 and Beverly Hills Cop 2 on BBC One tomorrow night, both sandwiched around the News at 10pm. This drives me mad, the shedules are in a complete mess because of the bloody news. Mind you I've seen both films before, why don't they give us some new movies for a change ?

The BBC's News should go back to 9pm NOW.

I ABSOLUTELY hate it when the news is delayed by entertainment programming. I'm expecting to see news at 10pm when they Advertise the bloody show. I would say it's blatant false advertising when one trailer advertises the news every night at '10' while another trailer tells the viewers 'oh, it's pushed back to a later time'.

Not moving the 10 News back because of a movie shows that BBC and ITV put their commitment to news first, and IMO that's very good.

NOTE: I haven't actually seen BBC One and ITV split the movie in half, but i've had too much experience with certain 10pm newscasts being pushed back to utterly late and odd times.

It would be quite nice to have the 9 back again, with that usual half hour of comedy every other night-ish, the friday night comedy zone. But it would be seen as backing down so they should stay as they are but why did ITV not start Goldeneye at 8? Confused Also looking at ITV's schedule tonight, they should clear it out, tidy it up, get a format and stop arseing about!

I take it that the 'Monday's My Day' strand has come to an end then!

Plus, I didn't realise today was a Bank Holiday?

I think ITV would usually push the news back to later, but with the War on Terror it really needs to be at 10!

Yes, 'Monday's My Day' was a bit of a non-starter really, although I did enjoy Bob & Rose.

It never really felt like a proper attempt at a strand, mainly because it was only 'Monday's My Day' on promos, but no special ident before the programmes.

And tonight ITV are messing about with the schedules again to squeeze in the National Television Awards (only interesting battle is Millionaire vs Weakest Link).

the good thing about that, I suppose is that you can have a break in the middle if the film's a long one! You can go have a bath or whatever, and carry on watching!

How can there be competition between Weakest Link and Millionaire if the programmes are on at different times? Doesn't this kind-of defeat the object of competition?
