That the BBC didnt acually pay for the rights to show the tournament live but are happy to show the parade to cash in on the success?


Or perhaps that ITV are happy to show what suits them (i.e. just the Rugby World Cup) and not bother to show coverage of what goes on in the next 4 years...

BBC Sport have signed a deal with the International Rugby Board (I think thats the right name?) for rights to shows clips til the end of the year, so perhaps this might now have changed?

You never know, you just might be surprised, i remember reading on guardian that itv was trying to put up a fight against bbc sport.
Next they'll be showing the olympics

Well its a choice between Jim Rosenthal and Gabby Logan on ITV, who actually presented the Rugby World Cup, or Sue Barker on BBC1!

What would happen if a really big story-like say a development in the Soham murder trial (Remember that?) happened in the middle of the victory parade? Would it force BBC/ITN (I still use the old name) to focus on news that's happening now, because as a friend of mine says "Yesterday is history"!

That BIG font on the BBC News 24 astons reminds me of the font used in Batman - it just doesnt suit the new-look news 24 - but apart from that I really like the new-look News 24.

ITV1's This Morning has been covering the Rugby tour adequatly!

Philip Schofield has now mentioned twice that he hopes Wales, Scotland and Ireland will allow the English celebrations to be broadcast into their region regardless and that they join in the congratulations!

Well done Philip for at least acknowledging the fact that this parade is predominantly English.

I also dont see why This Morning bothered to have a programme today as the majority of it featured the ITV News and ITV Sport reporters all reporting live for This Morning!

A great show and totally unexpected - ITV News Channel were also using the same people but not simulcasting any of it upto 11:58

ITV1 and ITV NC are now simulcasting the same ITV Sport feed.

ITV1 in England got treated to the Rugby World Cup ident again before the programme whereas ITV1Wales got a generic ITV1 (wales-less) ident before the Parade Programme!

Nice to see ITV NC using LIVE footage behind their Breaking news for Britain sting! :-
