I could hardly see John Inverdale sitting at the N24 desk, could you? They'll probably do it separately, as BBC1's coverage will be produced by 'BBC Events'

Presumably this would be a perfect opportunity to show all Beeb viewers the new-look News 24.
Or will News 24 no longer be providing coverage of such trivial sports-related lark?

I for one, will most certainly be watching the coverage on ITV1/ITVNC.
Im sure there will be a pool of cameras again to cover the long stretch but I do enjoy the commentary and banter between presenters and reports on ITV News Channel. Its refreshingly simple and enjoyable.
Also I think ITVNC should show the final ONE MORE TIME straight after the parade and then put it to bed until January 2004!

This load of old jingoistic rubbish should be allowed to fester on itv2, where it belongs , and see the real interest by how many people complain. I trust the advertisers are prepared for a mass switch off in Wales,Scotland and N. Ireland for the 90 mins that it's on ?
I should imagine that if Wales had won , the English media would have long since forgotten it had ever happened( and old Tim Henman would be a sure fire cert. for the English sports personality ) and any victory parade in Cardiff would be lucky to get a passing mention on the news, never mind a network blow-out to all parts. For all those who doubt the institutionalised demi-racism of the English media, cast your mind back to the weekend that Liverpool soccer fans laid waste to that French stadium (Parc des Princes ?), On the day before the game the blazing headline in the Sun was " England's Glory "; On the Monday after the riot the Sun headline was " Britain's Shame ". Good eh?
So in the words of the popular song you can stick your chariots where the sun don't shine......

Well I cannot but agree with everything contained in that post.
Im sure if Wales, Scotland or Ireland had won the event it would NOT be forced upon the rest of the Country and broadcast on all the national tv networks where the 'powers that be in' England would ensure that it was a local opt-out for which ever Country had won!
Once again this is propaganda at its worst!

Problem is that it's such a protracted hyptothetical argument....when have Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland ever won a major championship in any sport?
Perhaps if this day ever arrives you might just be surprised
Also, the recent Wales playoff for Euro 2004 qualification was broadcast on BBC One across the UK....surely if we extend your argument this was a waste of primetime TV space in England, Scotland and N.Ireland?

How very well predicted. John Suchet just said it will be Jim.
Jim Rosental and Gabby Logan will be presenting with Nicholas Owen located in the studio just incase anything goes wrong!
Should be a good programme
