. . . and they're airing promos for live events this weekend.

What do you expect, I can't imagine the playout staff at whichever company they use for playout these days are that motivated to change all the trails

I wonder what Deloitte means when it says broadcasting will cease 'shortly'? Days, weeks?

I'd have thought sometime today

Seeing as Setanta 1 has news on at 6 I'd have thought they'd all go off air then

It will be interesting to see what happens now with the England and FA Cup rights. I can see Sky picking up Setanta's FA Cup matches but it's the perfect opportunity to ensure all England games are FTA. Will it happen? I doubt it.

Apparently ITV get offered the England rights at £2m per match, it was written into the contract. That is if they want them.

Perhaps ESPN could bid for the FA Cup to further enhance their proposition ?

This news can't be good for ITN either, as they provide the facilities for Setanta Sports News. That means they now only have the ITV and C4 contracts. It does mean they have spare facilities, so I wonder if we will see another channel move in or a new one launch?

Merely stating a fact, wasn't 'expecting' anything.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with the rights to events which are currently underway - football aside - such as the USPGA Golf and Golden League Athletics, in terms of broadcasters' ability to pick up rights and offer coverage with pretty short notice.

The male presenter on Setanta Sports News just made a comment about doing something again tomorrow, followed by a knowing wink to someone off camera.

It's sad watching the ITN staff in the newsroom behind the set, all presumably now out of a job

Doesn't Virgin Media have a hand in the News channel somewhere? I can't remember.

Is anyone able to capture the last few minutes of any of the Setanta channels for me? I'd like to get some sort of coverage for TV Live tomorrow. Thanks.

When I tuned into Setanta Sports News they had what looked like a dodgy YouTube clip running in the middle of the screen with a promo for the channel.

It ended on an ITN Production for Setanta Sports / Virgin Media endboard, before the static Setanta Sports News logo, which is still on-screen now.

Yeah, joint venture between Virgin and Setanta. But it was only created because of Sky channels being pulled from Virgin, they're back now. Last ten minutes of Setanta news being made up of a corporate promo which seemed to have been taken from the internet. Fair play to them though for doing anything, must have been awful these last few weeks for them.

When did they stop live trans on Set Sports News? I've just watched a trailer promo of the channel and it's went to a slide now.
