That's it. Setanta is history. Really sad day for those involved.

When did they stop live trans on Set Sports News? I've just watched a trailer promo of the channel and it's went to a slide now.

He means when did they go to the promo that closed broadcasts. That appeared at about 5.50pm. They handed to it with a quick goodbye.

I was watching Setanta Ireland and S.S.News was due to be on but it wasn't. Are all live programs stopped on Setanta Ireland? (The Hub etc)

ESPN America - still showing to those who had a Setanta Subscription - when does that become part of Sky Sports subcription???

Setanta Sport News - Closed

Setanta Sports 1 UK - closed

Setanta Sports 2 UK - only available to those who were setnata subscriptions - still on air!!!!

Setenta Golf - closed

Setanta Ireland - still on air!!!

UK racing - still on air

World Racing - still on air

LiverpoolFC TV - still on air

Arsenal FC TV - still on air

Celtic TV - nothing

Rangers TV - nothing

Does this means that the channels still on air are FREE until such a time in the next few days when they arrange something with Sky or go it alone, considering Deloitte have said they are no longer taking any money from here-on-in?

RacingUK (and presumably therefore RacingWorld) will be launching as standalone channels for their 55,000 customers. LiverpoolFC have released a statement saying they are carrying on as normal.

It's a shame to think of all the jobs lost from Setanta.

Yep, and that should never be forgotten in these circumstances. It's slightly worrying looking at quite a few forums with a lot of people enjoying the situation, forgetting there are tons of people going home tonight without a job. Discussion over the future of the station and what happens to its rights are one thing, revelling in its demise is another.

From a Scottish perspective, a couple of things that haven't possibly been picked up, one of which presentation wise could be important. I take it STV will now have to do their own coverage of Champions League matches from Scotland, as this had been sub-contracted to Setanta. God help us if that means we're going back to the dream team of Andy Walker presenting and Archie doing the commentary. I would plead with them to consider something different - at least Peter Martin from Clyde sounds interested (to put it mildly).

Also, the upcoming Scotland international game was set to be shown on Setanta - I take it the rights go back to the SFA, and are not for the administrators to sell on. You'd think there must be an audience for this - at the very least if a buyer cannot be found they should hand it to a terrestrial broadcaster for this match only to ensure people can actually see it.

. . . and they're airing promos for live events this weekend.

What do you expect, I can't imagine the playout staff at whichever company they use for playout these days are that motivated to change all the trails

Merely stating a fact, wasn't 'expecting' anything.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with the rights to events which are currently underway - football aside - such as the USPGA Golf and Golden League Athletics, in terms of broadcasters' ability to pick up rights and offer coverage with pretty short notice.

Golden League Athletics would be perfect for the BBC, even if just on the interactive service where they could just air the world feed.

That Guardian article suggests Racing UK will be a standalone channel at £20 a month. Surely that's a mistake - can't see people paying that when they had it as part of Setanta for around £12 a month.
