Having watched Make Your Play on Saturday night I noticed the answers on the tower game were only worth £500.

I remember this time last year answers were worth about £30,000.

With it not being on a Sunday anymore and paultry money for the answers, is this rubbish on it's way out on ITV?

Does this mean the return of The Big E and Box Office America?

Hmm, This happened with Quiznation

One year the prizes were £2000 and then the year after the prizes were about £20 each.

Then Quiznation ended earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Sunday is now a quiz TV free night on ITV1. What about the rest of the weekend?

The fact their reducing the prize money, suggests they are either loosing money or not getting enough calls. Wink

Well it does make sense, they still get around the same volume of calls while giving away less money, its a pure business move and a smart one at that.

yeah thats what I was thinking... They slowly lowered the prize until they got what they thought was a decent balance between prize and calls and left it at that. I doubt its because they are having budget cuts.

Last time I had a flick around a Sky box late at night there were only 2 channels showing quiz programmes compared with virtually every tinpot channel 6 months ago.

So good to see their decline

With the exception of Smile TV and Ftn between 12.00am and 3.00am it seems to have gone from Freeview, but saying that Ftn's thing isn't that much of a phone in quiz like it once was, thank heaven.

The Hits' Budapest rip off thing looked very shoddy, I was rather surprised it wasn't taken off sooner.

Me too, that was the worst of the bad bunch (excluding the s**** on Smile TV that is).

Could be quite a clever move this actually.
If you see £30,000 prizes offered, you're likely to think 'Hm, lots of people will be calling in, i'll leave it'.

For £20-£100 though, you're less likely to think this. So they generate more calls for offerring lower prizes every now-and-again.

Either that or i'm reading to much of it and no-one wants to play any more (hope so!)

I would not pay 75p per call just to win £20!
