Aye; in this case I'm happy to let that slide... A nice idea for it to head up the playlist - up until yesterday I wasn't expecting any sort of acknowledgement or change at all, so it's good that they decided to mark it in some way.

BBC World Text's news pages (derived from Ceefax) used to get 'stuck' occasionally in the same way.
They would usually promptly rectify it after an email.
I assume the issue is caused by a loss of network uplink to the encoders? Perhaps in the case of BBC2 Ceefax, the link was pulled on purpose because the service is no longer being broadcast on-air (and they forgot about Ceefax in-vision...).

http://ceefax.tv is still up and running, however - despite the date in the header being correct - the pages are somewhat out of date (3 years, judging by the Enid Blyton story).

This is absolutely a shameless plug but a bit of fun worth mentioning, if anyone here tweets I did a little redesign version of Twitter based on Ceefax for some nostalgia value: Pages from Twefax.

I see no-one's suggested "Pages From BBCi" yet then?

That's because it doesn't exist... It would be "Pages from BBC Red Button" now...
Why didn't the text service on Red Button keep the name Ceefax anyway?

Presumably because when BBCi/Digital Text/Red Button launched it was a million-miles away from CEEFAX (it didn't have page number for years). However as time has passed the new service moved closer to CEEFAX (page numbers were finally introduced to speed up the previously menu-based-only navigation) - but I guess they wanted to keep the brands separate as they didn't carry identical information.

You could argue that whilst many of us have fond memories of CEEFAX, others equate the word with a klunky, out-of-date 70s-style service...

It's not the only Twitter/Ceefax mash I've seen - see also http://14lines.com/blog/2011/08/10/the-world-is-watching-twitter/

When researching it I think I also found someone who made one that'd take the tweets and actually display it on their telly like in Ceefax, which was quite cool. Can't find the link right now though.

This indeed must be the oldest example of Pages from Ceefax on the internet!
