Hi all,

On the off-chance, does anyone / can anyone / would anyone be able to upload the full event to YouTube or other appropriate place? I know it's over an hour, but living abroad, I sadly didn't get to see it and would love to see Pages from Ceefax one final time.

If anyone can help, I'd be grateful.

Thanks!

As promised...

Excellent! Thanks v. much for that Smile

The 'analogue I/P' screen looks blank? (assuming the faint image is a reflection)

Presumably because there is no analogue service to supply it any more? I'd imagine there's just the VBI on that feed and no video

I'm intrigued what 'In and Out at 582/15/15-16 means?

The label on that monitor refers to the fact that it's PAL only - the one on the right has an SDI input too.

It's the jackfield position for the inputs to input and output for the box - as pictured in the third pic. Bay 582, row 15 (from the bottom, of course), jacks 15 & 16.

I'm having difficulty in placing the date of the clip shown below - given the nature of the stories.

Little help?

I can't help but laugh at this. Note how to clock is going backwards in time. The headlines are material that I would expect from a teenager.

First thing I see is Apr 5th Sept. Anyway, it looks like a spoof to me.

I don't understand why they don't use the Ceefax brand for BBC digital text services.

Because when the digital text services started they had nothing in common with Ceefax, and once they started getting similar, Ceefax was known by everybody as the blocky old thing that takes forever to load, while the red button / BBCi was the modern looking thing. To rebrand it as Ceefax even today would result in a load of complaints to POV / DigitalSpy from people not wanting to lose the decent fonts / graphics / mini TV.
