The National Lottery tweeted to players: “Due to the website/app issue that some players experienced, the draw is going to be slightly delayed this evening.
“Apologies for the inconvenience.”
I don't believe that was a Tweet though - last post on their Twitter was nine hours ago.

I noticed on ITV tonight there was an insert during an ad break from Mulhern ‘sorry we can’t bring you the lottery numbers tonight’ which seemed a bit odd, was there an issue with the draw perhaps?
Coincidentally my app isn’t showing if I’ve won or not yet which it usually does by 9:30pm
A little bit of investigation (a quick trip to Twitter) reveals that the National Lottery website experienced problems this evening. As a result, many people have been unable to purchase tickets within the few hours before tonight's deadline. The National Lottery have quietly confirmed that the draw has been delayed:

Away from presentation do find it odd that you can't buy tickets online overnight (think it's between 11am and 6pm), but can play the instant win games. Is it the same in real life - can you not buy a ticket from a shop?
Just seems really odd in this day and age. It would be like logging onto Amazon and being greeted with a sign saying they'll be back in 5 minutes.
Why can't the BBC just air the Wednesday and Saturday draws in a basic, simple way for the viewers? RTE in Ireland can manage it, why can't BBC One give over 10 minutes, twice per week?
RTE One has one presenter in a studio with the main draw machines. Each draw is done, one after the other - Lotto Plus Two, Lotto Plus One and then the main Lotto draw, along with their Lotto raffle.
No fuss, no hassle, all completed within 5 minutes and RTE goes back to their normal schedules - BBC could learn a lesson from RTE.
Even the Irish Lotto website is faster than the UK Lotto website - I think the fastest was 7.55pm was the draw and 8.10pm the results were up online.

The instant games stop at around 2am. I know you can’t buy Lottery tickets after a certain time in superstores like Asda.

Last night's lottery numbers after the News on BBC One ended with "you can access the results online [note there was no website on screen, but a gap where it should be] and via the Red Button. And please note after the 1st of March, you won't be able to hear the Lottery results on the BBC."
It was a bit like someone copy and pasted the script last night, rather than a bespoke announcement which wouldn’t have mentioned the website (which as Capybara said wasn’t shown on screen) and saying how that
was
the final time.
