Who was that then?
The very last episode with Ed, this occurs I think?
Also, I noticed that during tonight's episode, as they were entering the Maze through the portcullis, the opening theme music appeared to have been dubbed in at this stage. Usually, they use an alternative version of the theme for running around the Maze. I'm sure this would not have been on the original Channel 4 transmission?

There are two episodes in the run that feature an message that one of the contestants in the episode in question was killed between filming and transmission (burnt onto the transmission masters as least).

There's one in the ROB era. One of the contestants in the show was killed in a motorbike accident between filming and first transmission. The original message probably went out on C4 originally and Flextech picked up the transmission copies, hence why it can still be seen in what is effectively syndication.
I can't be sure where the other one occurs, in all honesty. I dare say if the episodes on Ftn run for long enough, all will become clear.

This is the first series remember though so it's probably how it went out as they were just figuring out how to get things right.

I doubt they would have redubbed these sequences, as they would need a clean copy of at least that sequnce to redub to. I agree that it's as it went out. It's great though, seeing the early mixes!
Ftn seemed to have also forgotten to transmit the repeat again - Street Crime again at 2a.m!

As I couldn't sleep last night for reasons I won't go into, I flicked on the telly at just before 2am and I'm sure I saw on the EPG that Street Crime UK was actually scheduled at that time.

Crystal Maze is scheduled in the 2am slot last time I looked. Perhaps there is a legal issue and they can only broadcast it once a day etc.
