There seems to be a noticable edit at the end of the episode with the credits coming up a bit quicker than you expect - don't know if it's covering some reference to C4 or "join us next week" or something.

These went out on Challenge edited in exactly the same fashion so Ftn look like they're using the copies that already exist on the server that have gone out on Challenge.

These edits are almost always to get shot of "see you next week". But then again there are episodes unaltered in this fashion. There are two episodes in the run that feature an message that one of the contestants in the episode in question was killed between filming and transmission (burnt onto the transmission masters as least). This goes between final speech and credits. These are the only times I've seen an uncut ending.

Elsewhere though no noticable cuts - I thought they might have inserted an ad break between zone 2 and 3.

One of the good things about Flextech, they don't try and force commercials where they're not wanted.

Pity the EPG and website information is all wrong for this channel. "Chubby Children", scheduled for 8pm tonight on the EPG, wasn't shown at all. According to the slides, Most Haunted is on at 9pm, the website says its Da Vinci Code on the front page, the schedule says Most Haunted, and the EPG says its Vinci. I have no idea what actually went out.

Probably "next week" - end-of-series aside, ROB nearly always said something like that.

Yes. Channel 4 used to repeat each series nightly very late in the year or early the next year, and chances are the edits were made then.

I've noticed that when it was on Challenge years ago, what amazes me that when Challenge showed The Krypton Factor on many episodes at the end they actually kept in the bit where Gordon Burns tells us to see the next episode, Next Monday at 7.00pm on ITV. I was rather surprised they kept that one in. Although if you see one of the Grand Finals (I think it was 92) it is really badly edited, probably telling us when it's on next.

With Family Fortunes they make no obvious edits, although the credits still feature the contenstant appeal address (Carlton Television, Nottingham BTW) although in this case they stick up a caption saying the appeal has now closed.

Challenge seem to change their policy on this every once in a while. It either all gets left in, all chopped out or left hybrid. Every third or fourth run seems to be different. To be fair, it depends how it was put in originally and how easy it is to edit it out without making a complete botch job of it.

You Bet, the Matthew Kelly episodes where they started inviting people to phone in for whatever reason at the end of the show, is also very badly edited around where the phone numbers would have been.

Remember though, the Krypton episodes come from a time where the run day/time was virtually guaranteed week-on-week (these days a luxury only offered to Corrie and Emmerdale) and the likelihood of the show ever being seen again after its original airing was so low as to be almost impossible.

Not that it actually matters because its a separate campus now and what was Carlton Studios in Nottingham is now the King’s Meadow Campus, part of Nottingham University.

Looks nice what they've done with it though:
