I wouldn't go by what the EPG says. I guess the EPG is worked on what editions are played the recent from Challenge.

Again going back to Challenge, they'll probably show both Walker and Weir editions of Catchphrase on Ftn as they have done on Challenge.

The Nick Weir ones were bad, but the Mark Curry ones were dreadful.

Catchphrase needed a refresh and I'm not against that, Carlton made a huge mistake by dropping Roy Walker.

Agreed the set needed a refresh, afterall it was virtually untouched from 1986-2000. However from what I understand Roy Walker left as they wanted to move it to daytime so they drafted Nick Wier in who didn't really work well on the show & instead of Carlton/Action Time admitting their mistake (ITV never does) they got in someone else rather than ask Roy Walker to return.

Unfortunately now Carpark Catchphrase will be the only time you'll hear Roy Walker associated with the show in any shape or form Sad

It better not be! Click on http://www.idigitalsales.co.uk/content/tvchannels/uploadedlisting/Ftn%20Wk17.pdf and there you see Roy standing in front of one of the big screens ready to play Catchphrase. So I doubt Nick Weir will be appearing on Friday.

Saying that, I'm still waiting to see Dave Spikey's Bullseye which was trailed as starting last Easter Weekend but is yet to appear. Plus Jeremy Guscott hasn't emerged on Gladiators yet although he is listed in FTN's listings guide?

With regards to Dave Spikey's Bullseye in the trailers, it seems to be advertising the Bowen versions. Maybe there's some kind of advertising ban on the old versions which is odd.

Nick Weir's series aired in prime time

It was a few years later when it moved to daytime and Nick himself left

Beat me to it Andrew! Weir's first series was shown in January 2000 on Fridays at 7pm, but by September of 2000 Emmerdale had gained the 7pm slot all week.

By 2002 it was on Daytime, I think it had a Saturday teatime run in-between.

Ah I see, to be honest that's the reason I heard originally.

If he is doing the touch screen quiz machines surely they could negotiate a new contract with him & bring the show back?

Peeeeeeorrrrrrrroww.

Why does everyone have that as an alert tone on their mobile? That's surely cult enough to bring the show back. Laughing
