Don't forget just because its not on any channel at the moment doesn't necessarily mean its up for grabs. Either not cleared for syndication, unavailable, of minor mainstream interest or somebody else has an exclusive deal for them but not showing at the moment.
Yes I know.
I'm unaware if Takeshi's has been shown on Challenge but FTN is about screening the best shows from Bravo, Living, Challenge channels etc. Takeshi's Castle is not a good example of that.
We'll agree to disagree.

Its poor TV when you consider there are many far better British gameshows stored away in the archives!

Takeshi was bought in by Challenge. It was (and still is to a degree) aired to death on that channel, at one point propping up a good ten hours or so of the weekend evening schedule. People have long enjoyed watching other people making complete arses of themselves in public (Candid Camera, Beadle's About and others) and it would appear a worldwide audience enjoys watching Japanese people playing silly games and falling into varying mixtures of mud, water and white powder.
At the end of the day its a commercial decision, a ratings winner for Challenge and introduces this cult programme to the masses via Freeview.

I notice on the latest release of FTN listings for the coming weeks, the front page features a big picture of Roy Walker standing in front of the Catchphrase screen - advertising the fact that Catchphrase starts on FTN from Friday 20th April at 7pm and 7.30pm weekdays.
Then on the actual listings below, it says that Nick Weir will be presenting!?!?

I guess this is a cock up on FTN's part and Roy Walker will indeed present the show. It will be a major diappointment if he doesn't seeing as they feature his picture.
Also, I just noticed on an FTN trailer, that THIS SAT and SUN at 6pm and 6.30pm, there will be ALL NEW Dave Spikey's Bullseye!!! Woo hoo!!! Again, it says on the listings that Jim Bowen will feature??
Surely, some confusion here?
