According to DS they've skipped some finals of Gladitors too.
They've already shown heat 2 & 3 of group C (last sunday) tonight they showed the group B final and heat 1 of group C.
We should be on the 1991 series by next week.

Pfft... I've given up trying to predict what order FTN will show things in. What's the betting they've not made a single mistake with Takeshi though

Although funny to watch people falling into rivers etc, Takeshi's Castle is so badly dubbed it makes me squirm! They've got to start showing the Ed Tudor-Pole versions of Crystal Maze soon.

How do you mean "dubbed"? Craig Charles does a commentary track over it, but all the other voices (usually only short clips) are in the original Japanese.
Don't see why.
'Sides, ETP was rubbish.

Your opinion. Takeshi's Castle is a foreign show with a dubbed commentary - cheap and piss poor.

I'm pretty sure there's a difference between dubbing and a plain old voice over. If any of the characters or contestants speech was being translated or replaced, that would be dubbing. As Reboot rightly points out, it's just a commentary.
MXC (the american version of Takeshi's) does it in a really cheesy tacky way, perhaps you were thinking of that?

It would appear Challenge/Flextech only bought Takeshi in its original broadcast medium, chopped three quarters of it out (badly in some places), stuck new graphics and junctions on it and slapped Craig Charles speaking on top of it, in some cases on top of the Japanese commentator. Therefore I would assume that would be how it went out originally in the late 1980s.
Takeshi MXC is proper dubbing though and is an American production using the Takeshi material. Everything is replaced - all vocals, all audio and all that's left of Takeshi is the visual material. As a result, its just not very good and a classic example of something that's been well and truly Americanised.

well it always sounds to me as if Craig is talking over another commentator.

Yes, ok, its not dubbing but I can't be bothered to think of another word.
Its poor TV when you consider there are many far better British gameshows stored away in the archives!
(Do you guys all work for Virgin Media?

Such as?
Don't forget just because its not on any channel at the moment doesn't necessarily mean its up for grabs. Either not cleared for syndication, unavailable, of minor mainstream interest or somebody else has an exclusive deal for them but not showing at the moment.
