The END of Ftn!

For those who haven't got a Sky Channel package and those who don't subscribe to cable etc and rely on Freeview, here is some good news!

The Crystal Maze, The Krypton Factor and Bullseye are going to be transmitted on FTN in January...apparently...or so I was reading in another forum last night .

This is great news. I've got all the free Sky channels and Freeview on another telly so I haven't been able to watch these programmes on Challenge for many years (since Uni).

But now, I'll be able to plug in my trusty Wharfedale set top box and watch them in all their splendour in the New Year!!! It'll be great!!! Hopefully, the ratings will also be high for those Freeview viewers so that bosses at the terrestrial stations might think about bringing them back properly!!!

The Crystal Maze - woo hoo!!! Can't wait!!! Got several tapes of the original when it was first shown on Channel 4. What I didn't know whas that there were 5 Christmas Kids Specials...I thought there were only 3. Therefore, there's 2 programmes I haven't seen!!! Hopefully, these will be shown on FTN too!!!

I personally can't wait to see The Krypton Factor again. It brings back so many good memories and was a must see when I was little!

That is pretty good news, I never watch FTN, but I will make an effort to now if they're showing stuff like this!

It's about time they put something decent on FTN!

I wonder if this channel will be "Virgin" branded next year?

The Krypton Factor was great. The continuing story each week where the contestants had to remember certain things and answer question, cool. Looking foward to be able to watch it from the comfort of my own bedroom.

Good stuff, but will they show more than the few series Challenge do?

I want to see early and late era Krypton, which they never show.

At last! Ftn being put to good use. Of course at the moment they're repeating Fort Boyard from 2004 (with Chris Ellison, Tom Baker and Jodie Penfold) once again!

About time as well, fTN is the worst channel on Freeview. This will make me watch it again.

Great news - according to deeteetee.co.uk Quiz Call is being axed to make way for it - just a couple of months after debuting on FTN!


P.S. The Crystal Maze long overdue a comeback (and I hate comebacks). I know people love him or hate him, but I'd imagine Russell Brand would be quite good, though Tony Robinson would be a less risky alternative.

Anyone seen Codex - cross between The Crystal Maze and the Antiques Roadshow?

Tony Robinson doing The Crystal Maze??? Come on...give me a break!!! He would be useless. I wouldn't watch it if he was presenting it. They need a quirky presenter with a unique personality and full of life and vigour!!! Rick and Ed were therefore perfect for the job!!! Russell Brand, although quirky, talks complete and utter tosh and would also be useless!!! Just look how his recent shows have bombed in the ratings!!!

Suggesting Tony Robinson presenting it, is about as bad as suggesting the new name for the show (if it were to come back) would be Bruce Forsyth's Crystal Maze!!! Bruce does a top job, but not presenting a show like this!

I don't recall seeing any of the kids' specials on server, I'm afraid. But that's not to say they aren't there...

being cynical... is this a move by Flextech to free up the Challenge schedule to show yet more bloody poker?
