It not even as if they have to lift a finger ether, there's a whole bass-load of Teen orentated shows availible for aquiring that, at this point, would probably go for next to nothing and probably be a profet for them.

Most of them from overseas, and we all know what US teen series are like. We need to produce shows relevant to young people in this country, and now only the BBC is capable of doing that.

And in the absence on competition, CBBC could end up becoming complacent and allowing standards to slip.

From the videos on that site 24:Seven looks like it was rubbish.

Well the only noteable thing 24:7 achieved was a clip on Alright On The Night. Although the site makes much of the awards the show won and, not surprisingly, that it did well in America.

According to Broadcast, ITV are to apply to OFCOM to have their children's output requirement reduced to 2 hours per week - one hour on Saturday and one hour on Sunday.

That could leave Five with more programming aimed at children than itv if we're talking about two hours! Agree that Citv channel should be txing shows like Woof, Harry's Mad, Matt's Million. Get some homemade output on for the slightly older ones as the channel seems to be mainly pitched at the younger primary school kids. It does seem incongruous to set up a children's channel and axe your production base. And to think that not so long ago we were all hoping for some in-vision continuity for citv!

As i have previously posted either in this thread or another I think ITV are counting the number of hours of children's programmes on GMTV as well, then if you work it out does add up to over 8 hours.

ITV1 - 1hour a day Monday to Friday = 5 hours
GMTV - Saturday - 3 hours 25 mins
GMTV - Sunday - 2 Hours 25 mins
ITV1 - Sunday - 35 mins

Total number of hours on Channel 3 (ITV) - 11 hours 25 mins

I did say "I think" therefore it may not be true and I cannot confirm it - really that's up to the ITV bosses to come clean at how the hours add up, and possibly for OFCOM to bet strong, for a change, and make them keep to the commitment of providing children's programming during the week.

There again knowing OFCOM they won't and they'll let ITV deterioate even further - even worse than the US networks that do provide at least 90 minutes worth of children's programming each day!!!! Already C4, five and SKY1 provide more children's programming each day than the new ITV!!! how pathetic for what used to be the nations number 1 commercial station!!!!!!!! Twisted Evil
