This will also be why CBeebies performs much better than CBBC, and why CITV's schedules are dominated by pre-school programmes, because pre-school programmes don't transfer over from the USA to the UK as well

so now that ITV will be commissioning childrens' programmes through independents does that mean the quality will be the same as...

Drama - Runaway Bay
Comedies - All Change
Gameshows - Knightmare
Pre-school - Mopatops Shop
Factuals - How 2
Animation - The Dreamstone

or is that just a pipedream and anything bought-in wil be as cheap as chips!!!!

Well, clearly these morons don't know how to shoot fish in a barrel as far as comissioning/aquiring for the older audiance is concerned.

Indeed, CITV's provision for older audiences really came unstuck with the sudden axing of Children's Ward. The decision was not made until after the final series had aired and, apart from an announcement from Greg Taylor on the programme website, no warning was given.

CW's final series was weak compared to five years previously, but with new ideas it could have returned to form. Instead, ITV commissioned a new show, 24:Seven, which was so out of kilter with most teenagers' lives no wonder it didn't run beyond two series. How many of us go to an exclusive boarding school where there is no uniform, teachers are addressed by their first names and pupils decide their own punishments? So American and full of "beautiful people".

Since 24:Seven, ITV has largely given up on the older CITV audience. There was Girls In Love, but ITV dumped it on CITV because there was nowhere else for it. Now it really is the end for ITV's teenage provision...and with the BBC going the same way, what hope is there?

It not even as if they have to lift a finger ether, there's a whole bass-load of Teen orentated shows availible for aquiring that, at this point, would probably go for next to nothing and probably be a profet for them.

Course, then again, these are the idiots who chose Shuiken School over Naruto so....yeah, whatever.

From the videos on that site 24:Seven looks like it was rubbish.

Hum, I know that but would it fly past the censors?

Oh no wait, nevermind, they'd just edit the hell out of it so it didn't make a damn lick of sence, exactly what happened with Sonic X and Sailor Moon.
