Maybe, but who knows what has being discussed behind closed doors. Surely even ITV would have explored every possible option to keep it going? They really don't need the whole agroe of going to OFCOM and getting the flack for reducing their kids' programming so much.

So ITV want to cut if from 8 hours to 2 - so doesn't that mean they are breaking their remit now as they only screen an hour each weekday, plus half an hour on Sunday mornings!

Yes, as was mentioned on a thread here (possibly this one) a while ago. However they will apparently screen CITV until 5pm again in the run up to Christmas which will make up the hours as its an average over the year.

Apart from the loss of revenue from not showing Quizmania etc. is there anything actually stopping ITV from putting their kids output on air in the middle of the night - or has that loophole been closed?

Bit pointless putting it on in the middle of the night though when most of the target audience are asleep! And unlike when C4 used to show school programmes during the night, will anyone bother to record it.

How ironic that a trailer aired in primetime tonight saying,

“Citv, the biggest, brightest, and best season yet”

It's the sort of thing I honestly could see ITV doing in order to get out of it - and considering they haven't, I'm assuming they can't!

The terrestrial channels quite often run family movies in the middle of the night!

Very true! I stand corrected - for a millisecond I forgot which broadcaster we were talking about Laughing

Yes I saw that trailer as well - odd considering they are dropping a lot of CITV output.
