I personally think the whole idea of Series 8 was very bad anyway. The ending of Series 7 was good, and I think it would have been a great point to leave the show at. We've all seen what happens to shows in the past when they do a total cast reshuffle and change the situation. it goes downhill.
Series 4.I hope it goes for series 8,another company starts producing it and they start releasing series on DVD.
Well Tony Gardner (Brian Johnson) has said he's not doing anymore after Series 8 so it'll definally be the end. All the kids are new ones in series 8 anyway
They could have another actor! I don't really know who but it should try it at least.Look at Mike and Angelo. That wasn't very popular but it kept being recomissioned.
The plan as I heard it was to move back to 1530-1700 for the last ten weeks of the year, probably for the reasons Andrew says. Don't forget last year CITV was 1500-1700 on the run up to Christmas - seems unbelieveable that was less than a year ago!

ITV has submitted an official request to Ofcom asking for its commitment to children's programming on flagship channel ITV1 to be drastically reduced.
The media regulator has confirmed the broadcaster has submitted a paper setting out proposals to cut children's output on ITV from the current level of eight hours a week.
"We have received a written request from ITV to reduce its children's programming obligations," said a spokeswoman. "The level is currently set at eight hours, which ITV sets itself in its statement of programme policy, but it needs to consult Ofcom if the level significantly changes."
She said the media regulator would consider ITV's request in the autumn.
The broadcaster is believed to want to cut its children's output on ITV1 to as little as two hours a week by removing all programming from ITV1's weekday schedule to only leave a weekend presence.
A spokesman for ITV said the broadcaster would not comment on its consultations with Ofcom.
Earlier this month, the ITV controller of children's programming, Estelle Hughes, resigned as the scale of the broadcaster's cutbacks in the genre became clear.
Ms Hughes oversees the commissioning of children's programming for both ITV1 and the CiTV digital channel.
The broadcaster has also announced it is to sell off its in-house children's production unit.
It's ridiculous - not just for the loss of kids programmes, but for the dross that will replace them! ITV struggle to fill their daytime schedule as it is!
Also, I doubt there is any commitment from ITV to put programmes which previously would have been made for the CITV slot onto the CITV channel instead!

Could ITV sell of slots on it CITV channel then?
i.e. like to Disney, Nick JR, other company so there would viewers a better choice of programming while giving ITV more money
Ok then folks, come up with a viable option for ITV to fund their weekday afternoon kids' programming. It's being trashed by Channel 4's line-up for ages and with the money from the fast food ads going, I'd love to know your thoughts on a budget. So come on, roll up and instead of just moaning actually come up with some ideas
I've said it a few times here - I really do think a "Saturday morning" style show could work going out around 4.00pm for an hour or so each weekday.
A show offering something completly different in the slot is much more likely to get viewers turning over than just trying to copy what their rivals are doing!

True, but many Saturday morning shows actually have a lot of simularities to stuff like Paul O'Grady's show with all the sketches, celebrity chats and games. Really good idea though, just the whole money thing again though isn't it.

Well cdukjunkie, like I enquired, I would suggest there do this on CITV on ITV1,
ITV get's money
kids get kids TV
other kids channels get a better placed public viewing

Let's be realistic though - how many other kids channels would want to sell their shows to ITV? This isn't a rhetorical question - it is a genuine one, would they want to do this?
