I was surpised to read an interview with one of the team at "Bad Influence", one of the shows on CITV in the early to mid 90s, in which he said that Bad Influence in its peak got 5 million viewers in its CITV slot.
Quite shocking really when you realise that ITV can't even get those figures for most of their primetime stuff these days.

There a hint for ITV maybe if there spent some money on CITV there might be able to make a killing with the Kids and try and get them back on to CITV, instead of SKY etc...
There got be about 5-6 million kids doing nothing at 4pm now a days, half the sky kids channel are full up with Repeats! So if there could be bother there could easily win the audience back! Plus make money for the dam shareholder
So in 1998 the presentation picked up,programmes had already started to go but there were new ones like Bernard's Watch,The Big Bang,The Worst Witch and The Quick Trick Show. Not forgetting SM:tv!
Bernard's Watch wasn't "new", it had already been in production for two years before the 1998 revamp and was dropped in 2001. IIRC it came on the scene during the last but one series of Woof!
I know it started in 1996 but it was relatively new and it was one of the new programmes along with Its a Mystery etc.

What makes this even more depressing is that Jetix even has an ace in the hole and it's not using it anywhere near "Properly".
And BBC? Pah, I don't think alowing reruns of ChuckleVison (especaily in the face of stuff like "Stupid") wins them any points ether.
Apologies if I'm wrong, but the only "classic" programming that is being transmitted on the channel at the moment includes "Zzapp!", "Big Meg Little Meg" and "Bernard's Watch" (which has been temporarily replaced by the new series).
From 21st October CITV will be showing new episodes of My Parents Are Aliens at 4.30pm - so it looks like the schedule is changing sometime soon.
i wonder if CITV will revert back to 3.00pm-5.00pm although I very much doubt it as ITV dont seem keen on it anymore. Saying that, they have shown nothing but repeats from 4pm-5pm so maybe they will go back to showing CITV as they have nothing else to show.

I would expect CITV will return to finishing at 5pm from around October for 2 reasons, one being that there is high demand for Children's advertising in the run up to Christmas, rather than relying on fast food like they have to do the rest of the year, secondly, they are under the official quota of hours at the moment so will have to make it up
By the way it's official that Series 8 will be the final series of My Parents are Aliens, whether anyone buys Granada Kids from ITV plc or not

Well Tony Gardner (Brian Johnson) has said he's not doing anymore after Series 8 so it'll definally be the end. All the kids are new ones in series 8 anyway
