Why is CITV on ITV1 showing the ITV3 logo?

So if FIVE was smart there could start showing

Dangermouse
Chorlton and the wheelies
Jamie and his magic touch
Count duckla

Also does SMG (STV) control the following cartoons? ( I’m sure there made them)

Captain zed
Rupert
Hurricanes (football team)
The birds (which only got shown in Scotland)
Sherlock holms in the 21st century

Also still own

How 2,
FUN house
Art attack

Plus did The Foundation (now part of RDF Media) also make ZZZap?

So technically if CITV channel wanted to show the show above there would have to pay all three companies above to show them?

Also does anyone know where I can get a list of the Granada's catalog of kids TV shows?

This is a wild guess but I think it might have been made by the Media Merchants as I remember Neil Buchanan starring in it.

Yep that was Media Merchants too, Neil came up with the idea for the show.

I am slightly embarrsed about this. I accidentally said that it was The Foundation that made many of the ex-TVS shows. It wasn't as it was The Media Merchants. That's what you get for trying to do something quickly before you are caught at work. I do apologise. (plus it was just after I read a BBC business report about RDF buying out The Foundation.)

If five were shrewd enough, say at about 430pm they could show...

Dangermouse
Wind In The Willows
Chorlton and the Wheelies
Count Duckula
Victor and Hugo
Fantomcat (Series 1)
Jamies and His Magic Torch
and a couple of other Cosgrove Hall shows
they could also show Dogtanian (series 2) as that was a co-production with Thames!!!!!

They could even make new episodes of Splash as a competitor to Blue Peter!

So in 1998 the presentation picked up,programmes had already started to go but there were new ones like Bernard's Watch,The Big Bang,The Worst Witch and The Quick Trick Show. Not forgetting SM:tv!

Bernard's Watch wasn't "new", it had already been in production for two years before the 1998 revamp and was dropped in 2001. IIRC it came on the scene during the last but one series of Woof!.

They offloaded gradually though and some good ones didn't last long[UP2U,Eliminator and Globo Loco had 2 series and Play the Game probably won't come back either].

Isn't Eliminator still being made or am I getting it mixed up with the reruns on the CITV Channel? I'm pretty sure Globo Loco had a third series.

I think the downfall of presentation was Sep 04 with some good idents like the mix ones but bad ones aswell. As for programmes i'd say the announcement of the Kids Productions stopping production. Is Art Attack likely to come back next year?

Art Attack I reckon will come back next year, though where its going to air on CITV on ITV1 is anybody's guess. Its done well that programme has, its probably the only one now of the old school of Children's ITV Programming that's still with us.

Also does anyone know who own the rights to

First six series Bernard's Watch
The Dreamstone
Mike and Angelo
Samurai Pizza Cats
Walter Melon (I’m sure this is SMG )
woof!

Plus I take it there no longer hold any rights to :Animaniacs or Freakazoid
I know Histeria!, Taz-Mania, Pinky and the Brain and are control by BBC

I’m starting to think there don’t have a back catalogue, and there really don’t want to waste, Cough spend the money getting hold of them!

mayby there should just shut it now!

"Bernard's Watch" (the original 1996-2001 run) was produced by Carlton Television, so they currently own the rights to that series. It returned, completely revamped (and, if I may say so, quite dire) as "Bernard" (with a different actor playing the lead role, alongside different supporting actors) in 2003; this series was produced by Yorkshire Television.

Indeed. ITV have a whole library full of classic children's programming that could quite easily be broadcast on the CITV Channel, but, as you say, they "can't be arsed". Apologies if I'm wrong, but the only "classic" programming that is being transmitted on the channel at the moment includes "Zzapp!", "Big Meg Little Meg" and "Bernard's Watch" (which has been temporarily replaced by the new series).
