Did Amanda Donohoe and Maxwell Caulfield appear in Emmerdale as original predicted, or was this just another rumour that sometimes floats around soapland?
I was only thinking the other day, Emmerdale needs new producers...and stone me.. it's been announced Keith Richardson and Anita Turner are "stepping down".
So perhaps Emmerdale can finally rid itself of the overdramatic, sentimental music-based nonsense that has become its main feature in recent years? (Perhaps not but I do think its gone a bit too far in the "silly" stakes)
Apparently Steve Frost will be replacing the Exec Producer - I know many people here dont like Steve but he did an excellent job on Emmerdale as producer from 2001-2005 IMO- it was after he left that Emmerdale really went down the pan and so many character being unlikeable.
Also, although im the only one who thinks this, I still stand by what I said and I mainly liked his era as producer of Corrie.
I think Anita Turner has managed to turn Emmerdale around a bit as its much more watchable now than it was during 2006/2007.

Hmmm. When did I stop watching? After Patsy left. When was that?
I was really into it for ages, so something must have changed.
I disagree - I thought Steve Frost's era at Emmerdale (2001-05) was excellent with so many great storylines and characters . It was after he left it went downhill IMO and so many characters became annoying and uninteresting. We also had the Who Killed Tom King storyline which dragged on far too long.

Do you mean Corrie? I totally agree.
It's great to see Sheila Mercier back - it's like she's never been away. I reckon we're due for one of the saddest episodes of Emmerdale tonight. There's a behind the scenes interview with Tim Fee on the Emmerdale website discussing how they did their best to celebrate Clive's life on the show as well. http://www.itv.com/emmerdale
