...anyone on the title sequence by the looks of things.

Having had this banal shadow of it's former self thrust upon me at 7 every evening by my other half for the last few weeks, I have yet to see a black man, some scowly looking woman with shortish hair or anyone else in the title sequence in the show! Are they in it? If not, why are they on the title sequence? And the theme is awful these days.
This is the silliest opening titles for a soap since they cut the Neighbours titles down to about 6 seconds 10 years or so ago.

My nan vomitted when she saw the current Emmerdale titles for the first time. The movement of it made her puke!

It's the little details like that which make this forum what it is.

The titles don't have any members of cast, past or present in it. They are supposed to represent the different aspects of the show, comedy, drama etc. I think they are awful, not a patch on the old ones with the scenes of the village and the doctors car, and the orchestral music doesnt match the programme. Watching the G Plus repeats, it's easy to see how much the show has deteoriated in 4 years.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not really a soap person. I really can't stand Corrie or Eastenders but I've actually found Emmerdale pretty watchable the last month or so.

Well said. The characters are good and there is a lot of humour in it.

Funny you have only just noticed the titles- they have been in use since December 1998!

I really dislike the current music, but the titles are alright. I didn't know the people on the titles were never in the soap, having rarely watched it.

I think the old piano music should be brought back.
