Well there's definitely some effect on the recording. At times it makes it feel like they are in a green screen studio.

That’s because a lot of the time they are.

Seems a bit weird to film a soap in a green screen studio?

Tom Bradby seems to manage it every day..........although his is more straight drama. Wink

They very occasionally use green screen on Neighbours, mostly for driving scenes. I wish they didn't but hey ho. I imagine it might happen more now because of social distancing.

They used it to show some characters on a yacht some time ago, to superimpose Stefan Dennis and Rebekah Elmagloglou into some scenes set in London last year and also to show the back of the Kennedy's house which isn't part of their back yard set.

So apart from Jacob, Leanna and Gabby in the shop, Rhona, Nate andthe person they were having their meeting with at Rhona's and 1 of the Dingle scenes (which was without Lydia's mother), most of that episode definitely seemed pre-lockdown tonight.

The scenes with Harriet and the bent copper were notably spaced apart as well

Classic Episodes: Are we almost at the point where YTV changed their endcap to the one with the 3s in the background? I believe that was 1996. It’s been mentioned that these were re-edited on the Granada Plus repeats - I wonder what ITV3 will do?

Id say most from last night was filmed after lockdown. The scenes with Lydia's mother in were obviously pre lockdown (I think all of last nights Dingle scenes were) plus the scenes we saw at the 'hotel'. I think the scene where Andrea returned to the village may have been after lockdown as Millie was conveniently asleep in the car.

Yes all the Malone scenes were social distanced but the scene with Dawn and Harriet may have been done before lockdown as she passed her a mug of tea and they seemed closer than 2 metres.

Emmerdale is at an advantage to the other soaps as they have a much larger outdoor set for filming and many of last nights post lockdown scenes were filmed in the village.

I assume the sudden absence of Kerry in Emmerdale, as mentioned tonight, is because Laura Norton isn't able to return to filming yet. The scene with Bob and Amelia seemed to be a bit of a filler scene. Also social distancing is really noticeable now, the scene where Dan returned and Amelia wasn't able to go near him and the social distancing between Belle and Matty at the hospital just a couple of examples.

And then Bob offered to push Dan’s wheelchair which he obviously refused as he would have had to come with 2m of him

In normal circumstances Brenda would no doubt have walked past at the exact moment they arrived back as well

Sad, but not unexpected at that age. But it happened seven months ago? Why did the news take so long to get out? Confused
