I don't even know if they will deal with Covid when they move back to normal episodes as they are meant to pick up where they left off with half the scenes filmed pre lockdown. It will be interesting to see how they move forward.
I assume they've already used all of the Woolpack scenes they'd filmed? That'll need to be closed to the public for a while, so any remaining pre-Covid footage will be unusable and need to be refilmed.

Im not sure. They are picking up where they left off apparently when it comes back on 29th June, with the Andrea and Jamie storyline.
Last night did refer to that story though with them saying Jamie was in lockdown whilst Andrea was missing.
They did which makes it interesting to see how they will proceed with storylines when it returns. Will the lockdown episodes simply be set after the episodes we see when they return. We were told some things might seem out of sequence.
Admittedly it will be confusing but it's all been thrown up in the air because of the fact they were on the verge of going off air so they had to quickly knock up the lockdown episodes to stay on.
Considering filming is likely going to be restricted to actors being in one set, or one outdoor location, rather than regularly moving between them, I think the consequences of current restrictions will mean the stories will effectively remain in lockdown anyway. Chances are with the soaps they'll try and continue stories as much as possible but arguments will have to happen at home, rather than in front of everyone at the pub. Must say though as much as we all said we're sick of serial killers in every soap virtually every year a "Murder in Lockdown" twist would be quite a soap way of dealing with the situation.
I have seen a new Emmerdale trailer ahead of the show's return to 'normal' episodes tonight, featuring Jamie and without giving anything away to those who are spoiler free it looks like a great week of episodes for the shows return.
A lot of people on DS forums have slated Emmerdale for the lockdown episodes being boring and to be honest I did enjoy some more than others and it did feel like a spin off series separate from the usual episodes, but I think its great they did them just to keep the show on air. If they had taken it off people would have complained, left it on they still complain, they couldn't win really. It does feel like the show has been on a break and I will be glad to have it back tonight. It will be interesting to spot the scenes filmed before and after lockdown!
Sharon Marshall said the other week on This Morning that some scenes recorded just before lockdown are mixed with the scenes filmed after, so you will notice some differences.
