They said he was in Scotland with Debbie. Also Sam had asked Mandy and Vinny to move out as he was worried about Lydia being vulnerable.
I agree the social distancing was obvious at times and they could have written it in that Sam didn't want to get too close as he was worried. But I thought considering the limitations they had it was done very well overall.. When you think this was only filmed less than 3 weeks ago as well.

It's a fair point, but I think it's also worth remembering that having several episodes of a soap per week is much more efficient and cost-effective than one. These being really extreme circumstances, it's understandable that the broadcasters don't operate several productions at once just in case a pandemic occurs.
To flip things around, you could argue that by having a single production, they're much more able to come up with a plan of action to get producing episodes than having to work out the logistics of several different productions.
I know many don’t want to see as many episodes of the soaps, but suggesting they didn’t show as many just in case there was a global pandemic that forced production to be suspended and might have resulted in a big hole in the schedules, is a bit of a stretch.
It’s not like the filming of whatever the alternative programming would have been, wouldn’t also have even effected.

I enjoyed tonight's episode - Danny Miller and Jeff Hordley didn't disappoint. Finally Aaron can move on from Robert. Thought the 2 metre distance was less obvious tonight than on Mondays episode too.
Jeff Hordley said on Loose Women today that Emmerdale started filming other episodes (i.e not the lockdown special episodes) on Monday with limited amount of cast and crew. Hopefully this means on 29th June we will be seeing them.

Will probably be the closest soaps have been filming before broadcast since probably the late 70s/early 80s. Discounting the live episodes, obviously.

Wasn't so much of a fan of tonight's episode. Did Cain live with Aaron pre-lockdown? Liv's turnip growing game the equivalent of Tracey's tapes then.
Next week as they couldn't film at their "house" within social distancing rules they've moved Jimmy and Nicola into Laurel's house, who herself has moved in with Jai. Not sure how they'll get away with that - could say their house has flooded or something. A shame Laurel and Jai don't have a lockdown episode of their own as an addict in lockdown would be an interesting story.

Of course Mandy and Vinny have been kicked out of the dingle abode and are living in the salon, which will also take some explaining.
It’ll be interesting to see how they deal with Covid once we move onto the next batch of normal episodes, especially as aren’t some of the, half finished?

Cain moved in with Aaron late last year after splitting up with Moira. This was around the time Robert got a life sentence for murder.
Mandy and Vinny being at the salon could be explained easier than Jimmy and Nicola at Laurels, due to Sam being worried about Lydia. I didn't even realise Nicola and Jimmy weren't going to be in their house, although thinking about it that is a very small set. Im looking forward to the Vinny/Mandy and Chas/Paddy two handers. The only one im not looking forward to is Marlon but I don't mind Billy.
I don't even know if they will deal with Covid when they move back to normal episodes as they are meant to pick up where they left off with half the scenes filmed pre lockdown. It will be interesting to see how they move forward.

In last nights Emmerdale it was explained why Nicola and Jimmy were at Laurels house - it was so Rodney could shield at their house. I enjoyed last nights episode, it isn't often that I take much notice of Nicola and Jimmy, at least not in recent times anyway, but I thought it was written and acted very well. The only lockdown episode not to feature a Dingle although of course they got a mention
